I run workshops in papermaking and bookbinding in my own studio and in schools and museums and for community groups, for all ages from 5 to adult and for special needs children and adults.
In the papermaking workshops students learn how to make sheets of paper from recycled paper pulp. Vats of coloured paper pulp are provided and this can be manipulated in all sorts of ways to make many very decorative paper sheets. String, threads, leaves etc can also be incorporated. In an all day workshop a larger piece or group piece can be made. It is a very enjoyable and fun activity and also very wet!
Students in the bookbinding workshop each make a stitched, single section notebook with a decorative cover. Covers can be individually designed or made with a coloured-in pattern. Older students in an all day workshop can make a multi-section stitched strong sketchbook. This teaches useful skills, and the students are proud and pleased to have made their own books.
I am a qualified teacher and I have an enhanced CRB certificate
